Small for small DC Pumps A pump cooling sleeve is recommended for 50–100 models of small DC pumps, especially in boreholes with sediment. It helps prevent sand and debris from entering the pump while forcing water to flow past the motor for proper cooling. This reduces wear, improves performance, and extends the life of the pump. In dirty water conditions, the sleeve should be removed and cleaned every few months to prevent buildup. Cooling sleeves are especially important for pumps installed in tanks, as above-ground tanks can become extremely hot. By ensuring consistent water flow around the motor, the sleeve prevents overheating and protects internal components. For long-term reliability and durability, a cooling sleeve is strongly advised for all tank installations.
